You’ve booked the venue, hired the band, and chosen your favourite music … but have you thought about that ‘first dance’ yet? Everyone can ‘shuffle round in circles’ – but how surprised and impressed would your wedding guests be if you took to the dance floor, and with all eyes upon you, knocked them for six with an elegant Foxtrot, or a sensual Rumba … maybe even a vivacious Samba, a sultry Tango or a cheeky Cha-Cha-Cha? With fun, relaxed private dance tuition and choreography tailored to your ability and requirements by a patient, experienced wedding dance specialist you could really put the seal on your day and stun your friends and family! Your dance can be whatever you want it to be and you choose the amount of lessons you wish to have. As a guide (based on 1 hour lessons) 2-3 lessons will give you a set of stylish basic steps, and 4-5 lessons will give you a routine that includes moves with more impact such as dips, turns and leans. Lessons are usually commenced 6-8 weeks before your wedding day, although last minute lessons can sometimes be accommodated. The tempo of the music you choose will determine the appropriate style of dance, either Ballroom or Latin, and I also offer tuition for Modern Jive. Modern Jive has influences from many forms of dance and a short repertoire of moves can be danced to almost any music. All moves are safe and take account of the fact you’ll be in a wedding dress and wedding day attire. Lessons are held in a full size dance studio (in Cheam and Woodmansterne, Surrey) for unrestricted dance practice. Gift vouchers are also available.
